To me this guy sounds like Travis Bickle in a lot of ways: just a normal everyday guy who slowly grew sickened by the world around him and decided to do something "big"
Yeah, but I'd be willing to bet that overall, country music fans are hardworking, taxpaying people with families and kids and productive lives.
Not exactly the dregs of society.
Unless someone hates decent American citizens.
True, and I agree -- but remember, Bickle's original target was the politician, who seemed to be a decent enough guy... he decided to target the dregs only after his original plot was foiled.

I'd like to know how he kept people from entering the room to clean without being suspicious as hell about it. 3 days of, "no no, I'm good thanks. Yeah don't come in" seems a bit weird.
I've stayed at hotels for weeks and didn't have the cleaning staff come in for more than 4-5 days. That's not weird at all.
I would bet a lot of money he kept everything concealed until the day of, though. It would be too risky to have someone from the cleaning staff randomly walk in

People who clean rooms crack he door all the damn time when I'm in a hotel room. Not to mention he was probably gone at times. And then building platforms and stuff. And had 10 suitcases.
Meh. I never have maids clean my room when I'm staying in a hotel. I don't want them going through my stuff. The "Do Not Disturb Sign" is always on my door.

It's like some of you people have only stayed at a motel 6 or something. That's very easy to do especially for only a few days.

But the overall sentiment regarding her right now is, "she isn't involved. We can talk to her right now but we'd like for her to come back so we can just get some info about the shooter from her."
I'd think they'd be pretty damn aggressive in rounding up this chick
Nahh, if they got aggressive, no chance she comes back. If any of the theory is true, she's probably not coming back anyway though.

People will not randomly enter if you put the do not disturb sign on the door. Not even the cleaning crew.

A hotel like the Mandalay Bay respects the 'do not disturb' sign- try staying somewhere other than Motel 6?

I've had it happen at nicer places. Especially when it's the check out day and the ladies just want to clean the damn room

Yeah out here housekeepers won't even go through a DND sign even when they're supposed to be checked out. They call down to a hotel manager who goes and checks them at the end of the day. I used to have to go to 10 rooms or so a day just from people forgetting to take the DND sign off the door before they left.

I've never used that sign in my life
I think I'm just too trusting when it comes the them. Hell I share a beer with them if they're up for it.
I think I'm doing it wrong

On checkout day, sure, but the guy was there for several days, so who knows how long the reservation was for.

If the gf was in the Philippines, then who was the woman walking through the crowd 30-45 mins before the shooting talking about they were all going to die?
When you go to Vegas, some crazy is yelling "you're all gonna die" at you 5 times a day

You can also tell the front desk that you will not require their service for the length of your stay.

If he was setting up a camera system to monitor the hallway for security and police, it seems that security for the hotel who watches the live feeds would find it weird that a guest was setting up a camera system outside of his room, right?

Anyone from Louisiana should not be making fun of anyone else's lack of wealth.

I'm constantly aware of my surroundings in public. I always make a mental note of the exits. I sit facing entrances almost exclusively. I carry.
But if I'm in a hotel and you want to come hang out with me, well, get the frick on in here
Yeah, it seems I hotel like a moron.
