Are we talking about two different videos? I may be mistaken, but are you saying there is a video of kids drowning being filmed by a guy eating salad? If so, I agree with you.

Depends on what the current is there in normal conditions. For a reference, 30 knots of wind will cause about 1 knot of current. If that area doesn't have much of a current in normal conditions, I think a good swimmer like yourself could have swam towards the camera. You would have been taken to the camera's left because of the current though.

2) having the PFD on just after it capsizes will trap you in, right? It pushes you to the "top" (former bottom or side) and limits egress
Yea you would be pinned to the roof of the bus.
Hard watching that video

Yes, you are correct and it’s sickening. These fat retards are so obsessed with filming things for Facebook, they are willing to watch children drown and not do shite to help.

Not much you can do there.
You aren't swimming to the boat with a pfd on in time to grab anyone. You wouldn't even get to the boat.

The only video I saw shows a distressed duckboat, becoming badly distressed. Not a sinking, and not any "drownings". Is there a video that shows beyond that point. Because I cannot judge a "filmer's" actions (bravery or lack thereof) until I know what happened.

I would have pulled out a knife and started cutting all those plastic windows up. No doubt that enclosed canopy led to deaths.

... and, with the weight of that truck (“boat”) it would have gone down very quickly. Likely in water over 15 feet deep. Rambeaux isn’t going to be able to swim to the boat, dive in darkness, and pull people out. Wouldn’t even get a door open.

You can clearly see in the video that the DUKW is taking on water. It's draft gets lower and lower... pretty obvious that it was gonna sink.
Not that it matters to the people watching. You go out in that water trying to save people and you're gonna be the next casualty.
Sad situation

I'm no professional but I'd guess the best thing to do would be to float/tread water and just go with the waves. If you exert all your energy trying to get to the other boat and don't make it you will drown
Also, like others said, if the captain didn't move everyone to the back to raise the bow he is an idiot

Is it a school bus type vehicle just made into a boat?
Oh I would have exited that shite and I'll take my chances in the water. Damn whatever that 'captain' was instructing the people to do

Update___No kids drowned because a few fat retards from the neighboring boat pulled them out of the sinking boat.
Instead, reality is, said fat retards sat there and filmed kids drowning for their Facebook news feed.

Have you ever swam in any type of current? Looking at the video you would have to jump in 500 yards up river in order to make it to the boat. And that’s if you even make it.
You would need to have high-level / coast guard training to even attempt something like that.

“Captain” is a loose term. These attractions often have carnies driving them. Anyone ever go to six flags Nola or jazz land?

This is the military version from WWII. The tourist boats are surplus or replicas.

No, 99.9 % certain these were captains. You cant just have Fred out there driving folks around.

No. It's a military amphibious vehicle built during WWII... DUKW
They were made with open tops or at most had a canvas cover... but these tour companies modify them and add coverings that are probably more of a danger than anything.
And I believe that they quit making these things at the end of the war. So all the ones in use today are 75 years old.

yeah this isn't a ride on a track at an amusement park. If you are a vessel on the water for hire it has to be a licensed captain operating the boat, whether you are a pontoon boat doing a sunset cruise or something like this.

It doesn't take much to get a small captains license to run a boat that small.
I think that's what he meant
