Not part of the OP, nor is it in what 99.99% of the population would call comfortable. You are arguing trivial shite. Ans yet somehow, that label will only get put on me.
Comfortable is subjective, isn't it? Usually the more you make, the more you spend. It could easily be argued that massive debt is far more uncomfortable than living a simpler lifestyle.

Man, y'all are out of touch with much of the world.
I have already said it is a livable wage anywhere in louisiana

Precisely why I said

So unless this thread is only made up of those people, a lot of them in here are full of it.

I don't discount that at all. But that's never been what this thread was about.

Probably be hard in San Francisco. However, in the USA, most of our geographical areas this is not only doable, but is being done by most of the population.

What subsidies does a single adult making 35k a year receive?
You are so full of shite. That doesn't qualify for any public assistance that I know of.

No, I actually have been arguing against doing "whatever you want" on $30-$35k in this thread.

This has probably already been mentioned but it's much more about what you have rather than what you make. The general point that men are usually able to live with much less than women is true.
For example, I could move back to Podunk Louisiana and have a decent house fully paid for while also renting out my current house (positive monthly cash flow of 1k) with no debt or car note. In that situation, I could easily live off 35k if single. Everyone's situation is different so the 35k figure doesn't mean as much as your own personal situation.

I just think you lack the ability to see how many people in the USA live.
Median household income in the USA is 51k. That factors in Twin Falls Idaho and San Francisco as well. A single person could live in 35k in relative comfort.

Those doing it in cities like Chicago, New York, San fran, hell even in NOLA, have roomates, parents that help them, a car already paid for etc etc.

So before spending a dime on any entertainment or eating out, you are left with only $314 a month. Yes, it is a plenty livable wage. But you arent coming close do "doing whatever you want" or "living like a king."
