The argument lnch was responding to were people talking about still being able to go on vacations when they wanted and trips etc etc.
you could...
not any vacation you wanted but you could still go on trips and vacations

No. My property taxes alone are $15,000.

get that hippy shite out of her Roger
you can only be happy if you live in a $300k house in the suburbs, drive 2 new cars, and go to Destin 4x a year

Doing stuff like what Roger pictured daily isn't happening on $35k. Getting there costs money.

Yet, we can say it is "easy" and you can "do whatever you want"
The truth is, it isnt. If that makes me a spoon fed idiot so be it. I dont have to stroke my neckbeard and feel special because how easy and awesome my life would be on 35k.
The truth is, it would be a livable wage only in small towns, and unlivable nearly in any city.

you could live in a van
park in state parks, eat cheap, drive when necessary, do odd jobs for spending money, then move on to the next destination in discovering your free spirit

I responded to the question. I could easily live off of that.
I'm not sure why a bunch of queers are talking about owning a house and taking vacations. I read the question as it is written.

millions do it everyday, but ok
like I said, at this point this argument turns subjective

Not part of the OP, nor is it in what 99.99% of the population would call comfortable. You are arguing trivial shite. Ans yet somehow, that label will only get put on me.

Easily. I'd rent a 1BR apartment, go cheap on vehicle, and save as much as I could. Cooking for one is simple. I often wonder if I had lived alone for 2 years after school on what I was making then if I would be better off today financially. I wouldn't have bought as much useless junk as we did with dual incomes. And I probably wouldn't have made the same housing mistake we did after being married a few months. Could have actually saved a good bit for a down payment and knocked down my mortgage a good bit. But it was more fun being married and living and learning together.

Not really. There are a hell of a lot of ski bums and similar types who live in places they find peace and want no part of conspicuous consumption.

I didn't think Roger's picture had anything to do with the OP...

Nah. He needs a new car and premium cable. To him that is an objective comfortable standard of living.

The poverty rate is like 15k for a single adult. A lot of people in this country would be thrilled to have 35k a year.
They don't get to go on vacations as it is.
