Mardi Gras Indians

Does anyone know where to see them tomorrow? I've head Lasalle and 2nd street. Also claiborne and orleans after zulu.

Does anyone else know where I could see them. Thanks

Never really understood the NOLA Mardi Gras indian thing. It sounds as though it used to be kind of like a "purge" to settle scores in the neighborhood.

That's not the point at all. Buffalo bill and his Native americans used to march in the mardi gras parades in the 1800s and the african americans in congo square got the idea from them. The two cultures also intermingled frequently since many houma indians and african americans lived close to each other in the treme.

It became a a tradition just like anything else in mardi gras to try to outdo the other "tribes" in costume and intricate beadwork.
