Everywhere I'm thinking about retiring to; everyone else will already be there.

My home county(Butler) is one of only 2 in Western/SW Pennsylvania to gain population. Washington County is the other.
Isn't that fairly far out from the city? What's driving the population growth there?

The southern border of the county(Cranberry TWP.) is only 10 miles from Pittsburgh. That's where my aunt lives and where pretty much all of(most of) the growth is centered. New developments everywhere along US 19 and Rt 228.
Butler City, where my family is from, is in the center of the county and is 30 miles from Pittsburgh. There is some new growth but not a lot.
Most of the new growth in the county is in the southern portion. Cranberry TWP, Saxonburg, Mars(Adams TWP) Sarver, Jefferson & Buffalo TWP's, etc.

Louisiana really loves that purple. Lafayette,Bossier, St. Tammany, Tangipohoa, Ascension, and Livingston are the only parishes with a net gain.

Why did Winn Parish have such a big % loss?

Wonder why Nevada is so popular? It’s nothing but desert Americans seems to be fleeing cities and farmlands along with the rust belt for the coasts, out west, and nicer rural areas where there are mountains or rolling hills.
Those western states off the coast are sparsely populated; it isn’t that they’re so popular, it just takes very little influx to move the needle because the population is so small to begin with.

What is a township
It's a smaller division of a county. Basically a county w/in a county. They have their own police, fire dept., and even have their own council. And they have their own taxes.
And Western/SW PA is the Midwest. PA is a NE state by geography but anything in that section of the state and you might as well be in another state/region. Pittsburgh is a Midwestern town.

Agree… Madison and Limestone counties are really exploding. Lots of northern folks moving in and bringing their blue state politics with them.
Baldwin county is really experiencing lots of northern migration. Unfortunately … lots of northerners have discovered our beaches ( Gulf Shores and Orange Beach).
