We all did stupid shite as kids. As we become adults we should also realize that stupid shite was wrong. Firing a loaded gun at kids is wrong on a whole different level. But, what these kids were doing was more dangerous than innocent fun.

Are these the same kids that will later on drop rocks and bricks onto cars from overpasses killing drivers and passengers? Give the man a medal. Don't bring snowballs, large balls of ice that can dent cars and break windshields to a gunfight. Be glad he's a terrible shot and didn't kill them.

Jesus. I had some kids throw rocks at my van. I don't think they even hit it... But for laughs I hit the brakes.. Stopped a second and hit reverse and them little bastards took off running.. I laughed.

What kind of idiot can justify to themselves that shooting someone is the appropriate response for having a snowball thrown at your vehicle?

If you’re okay with kids throwing snowballs at moving cars as a prank protected under the umbrella of “kids will be kids” excuse, then great! Would be a real shame if you had to learn the hard way what could go wrong when fricking with cars during snowy conditions on the road.

I tagged a car with a snowball from my balcony back when I was in college at WVU. It was during the blizzard of 93-94. Car stops instantly. Three basketball players get out and come up to my apartment. Knock on my door. I look through the peephole and saw them standing on both sides of the door. I booked arse out the Kitchen window down the fire escape. Can't remember the one kids name but he transferred from UK. Had quite a few off the court problems. That's primarily why I took off. I knew who it was and his rap sheet at the time.

Its portrayed brilliantly in the mini series john adams. Adams is defense lawyer for the british who shot some snowballers.

The series is a beautiful gift to America.

If the snow allowed packing, its a more effective noise maker than youd expect as you drove along.

Ptsd defense ought to work.

Ive been shocked out of reverie. You dont act like every day. The adreniline rush is absolute.

From the article...

quote:

They were among a group of children who were throwing snowballs at passing cars in a neighborhood on the north side of Milwaukee.

They were in a fricking neighborhood you Karen. Do you ask to speak to the manager every time you go out to eat?

ETA: The speed limit was 25 mph. LOL! OH NO THEYRE GONNA CRASH AND DIE BC OF THE HOODLUMS THROWING SNOWBALLS!

ok. Ive got English down solid. You seem to calling upon the "neighborhood" defense.

Neighborhood is just a way of saying A Place.
Nearly all of the city is neighborhoods.

Did you think the kids were fair game if they were downtown?

How does it happening in a neighborhood change things for you?

Sick Karen roast man. Would you like to volunteer to hit a patch of ice at 25mph? And a neighborhood is a worse case scenario because if someone gets run over in front of children good luck handling that kind of trauma exposure, especially if they caused the accident. You also typically know your neighbors so they would identify you as the one who killed someone with a snowball. Not to mention every time you drive down that street you’re reminded of it. In what way are you not getting these consequences far outweigh any of the “not that big of a deal” excuses you’re seemingly aligned with?

How is throwing a snowball at a car going 25 mph down a neighborhood street going to cause a wreck or cause anyone to get hurt other than in your head?

It doesn’t have to be THE cause. It just has to be enough to initiate *wait for it* a snowball effect leading to an unnecessary accident. Tell me one good excuse for throwing a snowball at a loving vehicle.

I am not advocating for anyone to throw snowballs at cars, but they were kids FFS who got shot over it. Kids always have done stupid shite, I know I certainly did similar things to this growing up (although never had snow to throw at cars growing up on the gulf coast), and most other people probably did as well, bc thats what kids do. Yeah its stupid but whatregonnado?? Lecture every kid in the USA?

I said shooting a loaded gun was wrong, and not even close to an appropriate response. Having said that,

Seems like a good deterrent to me. Those kids will live and never do something foolish and delinquent like that again, and the community, assuming it’s a responsible one, will spread so it doesn’t have to end tragically next time because there won’t be a next time.

Find me one case where people died from kids throwing a snowball at a car in a neighborhood and ill apologize to you for calling you Karen

ETA: also kind of sick that you think the guy was justified bc it is 'saving future lives'

Find me one post I’ve made saying exactly that. I’ve already repeatedly said my opinion on him shooting a loaded gun at children, so don’t twist my words around unless you just want to argue with yourself. If the kids get off scott free, then so should he. That’s how I see it.
