Why is it a shame? Because they were a young attractive white couple?

I bet if the thieves were Tyrone and Shaniqua you would not find it to be such a shame.

The moral of this story is don't break into a stranger's home, and you won't get killed by said stranger.

Why the frick did you have to throw race into this? Anytime two young people die it's a tragedy. I didn't defend them, I said their actions were stupid, but it's still a shame that they were killed.

dude, he dragged their bodies on tarps and put a final round into each of them after they had already been shot. He then put their bodies into another room so they wouldn't get blood on his carpet. Finally, he waited until the following day to notify the police.

He shot them multiple times after they were wounded and incapacitated and it was obvious that they were unarmed teenagers. He crossed a line.

Ironic.

You should read up on volume as a weapon sir.

So you have an LRAD strategically mounted around your house in case the event of a break in?

I agree this guy is a sadistic nut but I don't see how he broke the law.

Ugh..

quote:

“Nick,” said the voice before another gunshot is fired and Kifer is heard tumbling down the stairs.
“Oh, sorry about that,” Smith says.
“Oh my God!” the teen screams.
“You’re dying,” Smith tells her as more gunfire erupts.
“B---h.”
The sound of another body getting dragged can be heard in the crystal-clear audio clip before Smith speaks to his victim again.
“B---h,” he says, before firing another round.

That pretty much sums up that laws were broken. Yeah they broke into his house, he shot them, all fine and dandy, but then he gets cray cray and straight up executed them.

The chick laughs at him when his rifle jams, and he goes get is .22 and pops her dead.

I'm all for defending yourself, your family, and your home but this dude took it over the edge a bit.

Does he need to go away from capital murder? No, I dont believe, I think manslaughter would have been more appropriate, but thats just me.

If it was in my house no shots would have been fired. I haven't fired a gun since I left the military. I have no fire arm in my house. Now, if I was being repeatedly burglarized I would take other steps to incapacitate an assailant. Tasers work mighty well, as does a baseball bat, or golf club. A series of booby traps that paralyze work just as well as one that kills.

Fair enough. I'll say we disagree.

Booby traps will get you put under the jail btw.

No law broken.

I'm not sure if you're serious here? You can't just booby trap your house. That's definitely illegal.

ETA: I can't remember the case, but I read it in BLAW. It's when this guy booby trapped his barn door with a loaded shotgun. When the intruder opened the barn door, the shotgun went off. The court ruled this illegal.

There's a difference in this kinda booby trapping, as opposed to some kinda home alone set up. I don't know what the line drawn in the sand is though.

No, but seeing as how I now build sound systems for a living I could easily build one, and have, that can reach 130db.

great legal defense. You should quit your day job and become a defense attorney. Or a comedian.

Everyone keeps saying this but where does it say she laughed other than his testimony? What 18 year old girl laughs after being shot when a different rifle jams in her face?

Man, I bet that LRAD mounted in your living room is a cool conversation starter when you have people over.

Maybe you can ask for a delay of game until you get your sound machine and booby traps set.

And this all seems much more safe and practical to you than having to defend your home with a gun?

She's probably in hysteria. Isn't the recording on tape?

Now, that doesn't negate the wrongful act of breaking in, but the break in does not give a person the right to do what he did.

Ok, hypothetical:

A hear someone break into my house in the middle of the night and I shoot them. In my state of adrenaline overdose, I say something smart arse to them and deliver a kill shot.

Did I commit 1st degree murder in this hypothetical?
