I have to agree with most of the people here. This guy was stupid to resist and fail to inform the police that he had gotten his stolen car back. However, that doesn't mean he should have died by having his skull cracked open on the side of a car.

In a just society, these two officers would be marched out in front of their fellow officers and shot painlessly in the back of the head. Life for life.

This can be avoided. Pull over.

Cop “sir step out of the vehicle”

Comply

“You’re under arrest for stealing this vehicle”

Calmly reply “I have my drivers license and registration to this vehicle to show that I own it”

No, they don't. The majority of society backs the police

Kinda hard to calmly give them your info when they have a knee on your neck and your wrist between your shoulder blades.

Did you miss the part where:

1) The 1st audible words the guy said was, “I’m the victim in this...” and his face still showed the bruising from being pistol whipped by the carjacker

2) Was disabled from a drunk driver 20 years ago and couldn’t get out of the car easily under the best circumstances.

3) Had COPD and a heart condition, needed oxygen and frequently a wheelchair to get around?

4) Deputy Little clearly understood and told Deputy Blount that Ward’s legs were stuck - this he couldn’t get out of the car.

He definitely shouldn’t have fled. He definitely escalated the situation. The deputies had every reason to believe he was the bad guy BUT there was time to de-escalate and ask questions. After slamming his head against the door & being tased twice the choke hold was overkill.

The cops were 100% in the right until they went too far too fast.

The fricking cop was trying to pull the guy out through the damn window. There were at least 2, if not three or more, other cops there. The guy wasn't going anywhere.

I would have cheered if the driver had pulled out a gun and popped a cap in his arse when he started trying to drag him out. That cop has no business wearing a badge.

Tazer boy isn't much better.

Some cops are fricking idiots. Just look at the basic qualifications to become a cop in most cities. A high school diploma.
They’re then given ultimate discretion and ultimate powerful for the first time in their life.

What do you expect to happen

Both sides handled that horribly. None of that should have happened and those cops can get fricked and hopefully prosecuted.

But..... that guy in the car. frick. He was being irrational and irresponsible. Quit being a bitch and handle shite like a reasonable adult.

Miles long pursuit.
Biting the cop.
Resisting arrest.

Why if not guilty of anything?

They don't define "miles long pursuit"

Were there sirens and lights close behind the victim? Or was it miles long pursuit of GPS info - victim unaware he was being pursued
