With that shirt he was probably hoping to go unnoticed.

My best friend was killed by a drunk driver when I was 16. Never been an issue for me.

I was young, dumb and bulletproof when I used to drink and drive. Hopefully people that age now realize how many other options they have at their disposal.

It's nearly a damn miracle that I've never gotten a DUI. Most of that was when I was younger and a moron.

I don't drink much anymore and definitely don't drive when I've had more than a beer or two. It's not worth the risk when you can spend $10 on an Uber. You and I didn't have that option growing up.

Same. When I first started posting here I was in my mid 20s and still not learning my lessons. Drank and abused stuff heavily. I caused a wreck near causeway blvd in NOLA. Was severely fricked up on all sorts of shite. Rear ended a van. Knew I was fricked...

Cop shows up about 30 minutes later. As I am saying my last rites, the couple I hit start cursing him for being late and saying they could have been severely hurt. This goes on...a buddy stops to make sure I am okay. Cop finally has enough of their shite and asks if my buddy can drive me home. He did. Issued me NOTHING because the offended party worked his arse good. My car was towed. I was thinking how do I get this horseshoe out of my arse.

Thankfully no one was injured but also thank God it was before heavy cell phone camera usage. And thank God the couple I hit were assholes. I honestly only remember the scenario less than I do what even happened or who they were.

That should have been my FIRST and ONLY DUI.

At what point do multiple DUI’s becoming mandatory life sentences? Should be 3 in my opinion.

I should have gotten several. A few times I was saved because I was from a fairly well known family from a small, rural suburb. All of the cops knew my family.

It was certainly learned behavior in South Louisiana. Drinking and driving really wasn't that frowned upon when I was growing up. My dad drank beer in the car as did pretty much all of my friend's dads.

I remember riding from the BR area to Talledega, AL with my best friend's dad pulling a 5th wheel with his truck and us kids refilling his scotch and water the whole way there.

Yes, more people in prison is the solution.

Yes, people who belong there because they have demonstrated they can’t function in society without getting wasted and driving a death machine around. Isn’t that the point of prison. After 3-4 DUI’s you aren’t going to fix yourself.

He shouldn't be allowed to ever get a license again.

I'm pretty sure he didn't have one when he got this DWI. Taking someone's license isn't going to stop anything.

But are you also the same person that feels making a decision to rob someone with a loaded gun that accidentally goes off striking the victim in the head and killing them does warrant a second chance?

The cops do literally that all day.

Worked with a guy that had gotten a DWI.
Someone asked him how many he’s had.
His answer. This year or all together?
He got fired one Friday, showed up to work Monday because he didn’t remember he had gotten fired.
