Here's a similar story about a penguin who migrates every year to visit a Brazilian who rescued him:

I worked at a plant farm in high school and we had a pond behind the greenhouses. The owner bought a pair of young swans and the female died shortly after. Swans apparently mate for life so this lonely fella took a liking to a four inch pvc pipe by the pump house. If you got anywhere near that pipe he went into full on attack mode. He was a mean sob but he loved that pipe.

This was cut short. He strangled the goose and cooked it up.

Was in Zurich and that lake has some monster swans. It took all the nerve I could muster to not flinch when two of those frickers got close when I was eating my lunch. Their necks were nearly the size of my forearm.

The YouTube comments are pretty funny--suggesting the swan is actually mated with the guy and is now a gay swan.

Nothing impresses me more about a person's character than how they treat animals

I am convinced the way people treat animals is the way they will treat humans when no one is looking.

An African Grey parrot has a small head and brain, but can get vocabularies of over 600 words. Having had one, they do understand what they say. Tried to teach it to say, "I'm a stupid bird," but it was too clever for that. Hilarious bird.

My brother worked at an exotic bird store in college. He would open up in the morning and hear the birds talking up a storm to each other. As soon as the key turned in the lock they would shut up. Some birds liked women and hated men, other birds vice versa.

Character is the way you behave when no one is looking.
