Countries where Malaria is prevelent (in blue) and countries where Chinese Virus is prevelent (in yellow).
Chloroquine is widely used as an anti Malarial treatment.

Sooo we all need sickle cell?

Yeah. But those are also the countries least likely to be testing.
Alabama would have been non yellow a week ago.
Not saying the malaria medicine doesnt help or work. But that doesnt really prove alot.

Interesting, hope it all lines up with what you are saying with that picture.

Correlation is pretty strong that chloroquine is effective in fighting Chinese Virus. Obviously, this needs to be tested more, but lots of promiseing signs out there in this drug.

I doubt people take malaria pills every day in those countries.

People who live in Africa do not take anti-malaria meds. They simply treat the malaria when they get sick.

From looking at the covid map it looks like covid acts similar to the flu and does not thrive in warmer climates/middle latitudes. I think come summer the virus won't be able thrive as well as it has

It's possible that these people have built up some immunities based on common use of a widely available drug.
This is just one possibility for the correlation though. Encouraging but not yet conclusive.

More likely that no one from the civilized world has visited those places in the last year or so, hence no exposure.

Ecuador getting it from both ends too

I think that's doubtful. The average person there only gets malaria once every 5 or so years and it's a one and done treatment. So I don't think they take the medicine often enough to build up an immunity.
If you are living there and had malaria then your body will build up a natural immunity to it. I'm not sure if that would help defend against Covid19.
