I used to talk to the girls over cocktails on layovers and many would say "I'm looking for a husband," I'd reply "problem solved honey, I'm a husband" didn't get many takers on that line

Advice to young women: You won't find the perfect guy, but you might find someone that's perfect FOR YOU. Honestly ask yourself what will make you happy and don't listen to what society or your friends tells you. Recognize what you honestly bring to a long term relationship and aim towards the target that most values that. Don't waste too much time by chasing what Hollywood or your social circle believes is the right guy.
Advice to young men: Single men with careers usually grow wealthier and wiser. Single women start to secretly panic by the time they hit 30. Look for someone with shared values and don't be afraid to relocate to find better stock. Remember that there are a lot of good looking women out there that don't fit what most men want in a long term relationship - these women are are short term flings and long term friends, but don't get stuck married to them.

One of the flaws of recent times is we like to consider both sides equally off...when in reality the perception of attraction for men and women by women is far far more skewed.
Women consider a nice, homely girl that only had a little party faze in college, has a decent job, and is only 30 lbs overweight to be a great woman for marriage. Most men would say no thanks

Bruh, it’s no different between men and women. Fat dudes don’t think they’re fat and don’t understand why women don’t find that attractive. And fat women don’t think they’re fat and don’t understand why men don’t find them attractive.

On the other hand, many are picky without bringing anything to the table. Either they're way too "available" to men and no self-respecting man will have them for a wife, or they're grossly out of shape but also extremely confident of their worth. So because nobody is seeking them out, they use the line that "nobody meets their standards" when in reality, they don't have anyone to choose from.

I think this is generally true. But being overweight gives off indicators that you have less money and are a bad decision maker. We know those things to be generally true and people notice that, both men and women, whether they are conscious of it or not.
