Main street Louisiana loans

anyone else apply for these? I applied over 2 months ago, haven't gotten a peep from them, and now I can't log into my portal. A few days ago the site said all the funds had been allocated, but that they were still going through the review process... Seems like another Louisiana boondoggle that business owners will get screwed by

I applied and it took about three weeks to be reviewed and approved for emergency grant (my business was forced closed by LDH for 2 months). After approval, it took about one week for the grant to arrive.
They were good at sending email to document each step of the process during approval.
It is my understanding that initially, they had a difficult time getting people approved due to the businesses not filing their taxes. The 300MM grant was reduced and diverted to other things by the gov and our state reps.
I think the deadline for filing was Sept 29.

The way it was structured, the businesses hurting the most didn't really qualify, at least from what I've read and reports from friends. It was only to re-imburse you for monies spent during the closure. If you didn't have the money to spend during the closure ... because you were closed ... you didn't qualify for the grant.

Least surprising thing I will read today. Sharon Weston Broome spent Baton Rouge's COVID money on "crime reduction" programs. Not to bolster the police either. Our money went to social programs for her voters. Go figure.

I applied and they called my office at 8am on a Saturday morning, then marked my file as "non-responsive". Thank God I happened to log in that morning and was able to respond within 30 minutes of that happening, but all I've gotten since is "We will review as soon as possible" BS. All because my CPA had my tax returns password protected and I forgot when I uploaded them.
I can still log in to my account though.

Applied for 3 different companies and denied for various reasons. Could have reapplied for at least one of these, but didn’t get the feeling it was worth my time

Is that right? So they basically eliminated the program?

It was kind of a pain. I thought my wife's business might get between 500 and a 1000 bucks. She got 14,150. I think minorities got priority funding.

Similar experience. I applied for 2 different companies that qualified for the $15k grant clear as day. Should have been super easy for the reviewer. I am a former auditor, so I'm all about uploading the correct documentation needed.
Both got rejected initially bcs they said I clicked quick relief option (we didn't qualify for that bcs we got PPP money). I did not click that button bcs it was literally not available to be clicked. This one thing held up my application two months. I called and called and called. Then they'd call me back at 9pm from a spam number and mark my file "non responsive".
Second issue with one of the files was they rejected it bcs the owners weren't more than 50% in Louisiana. All 3 owners are in LA, so it's really 100% LA owned. Good lord that took another 3 weeks to clear up.
All said and done I did finally get $15k for each company, but it was a pain.

I just got off the phone with them and was told that even though I clicked the appeals tab and sent a message through that, I still needed to download the "official appeals" PDF and upload that to the attachments.
What a joke La is. The PPP program was run better than this clown show we have here and it was 100 times the size.

It was run terribly just as everything is in this state. What would you expect from a sloth?

I helped guide some clients through the process about a month ago, prior to the Sept 29th cutoff, the majority of the applications are still in the reviewing eligibility stage, with a few having passed that and are in the QC review stage.
This rollout of this program has been disastrously executed.

Exactly right. PPP was easier.
They also don't answer the messages posted on the portal. When you call it's basically a receptionist that takes note on your account and sends it to a reviewer. They tell you they will call you within 2 days. They don't.
I will say if you've ever dealt with Mona, she's the best one there. Every time i dealt with her she fixed my issue quickly.

I filed in august, and still have heard nothing...

Honestly forgot who Ijust talked to but after she told me I still needed to fill the appeal form out even though I had started the appeal, I was less than interested in her name. That's why I usually let my finance manager make those calls, but I was reading the OT and figured I'd look into it myself

Applied the first day it opened. Received the award letter about 45 days later and the check a few days after that. Very easy process, assuming you have all your financials in order.

We got our check last week. It was a grant, and it was very much appreciated

Seems like you may have found a diamond in the rough as far as their employees go, because stories like yours are very few and far between.

Same expectation and experience.
Louisiana will always be run by buffoons!

Mine was similar- applied the first day that businesses that received PPP could apply, 8/18/2020, and was notified of our grant award 9/30. I was checking messages and application status several times/week, and sending messages if I didn't see any movement on my application.
At the tail end, I was notified that our business was not in good standing with the state (didn't file Annual Report), but we got that corrected within 30 minutes and it didn't hold us up any. Our application was pretty straight forward, as we were closed for most of the first 4-5 months with no income at all. Thankful for programs like this and landlords that are willing to work with us.
