Any feedback from the OT?
Between Lyft and Uber which is "better" as far as being a driver?
TIA

Everyone tells me you make more with Lyft.
Most drivers I have met use both though and take whatever ride they get first.

I thought they were owned by the same people now?
Make damn sure your insurance policy will cover you. I have heard of people being denied their claim because they were operating in a commercial capacity using a personal policy.

Do both... Lyft has better promotions but more people use Uber. You turn them both on, when you get a ride turn off the other one.
I know Uber covers you under their policy while you're driving for them.
Just checked... Lyft covers their drivers as well.

quote:
While you drive to pick up a rider after accepting a request and during an Uber trip, you are covered for three things:
1. Third party liability coverage
This insurance covers your liability for damages to any third party such as another driver, pedestrian, or property in case of an accident when you’re at fault. Coverage limits vary by state, but are at least $1,000,000 per accident.
2. Uninsured or underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage
This insurance covers you and anyone else in your vehicle in case of an accident where another driver is at fault, but does not have sufficient insurance. This also covers hit and run accidents where the at-fault driver cannot be identified. Coverage limits vary by state, but are at least $1,000,000 per accident.
3. Contingent collision and comprehensive coverage
This insurance covers your vehicle in case of an accident whether it was your fault or not, as long as you maintain auto insurance that includes collision coverage for that vehicle while not on an Uber trip. Coverage limit is up to the actual cash value of your vehicle. There is a $1,000 deductible.
Just checked... Lyft covers their drivers as well.

You make more with Lyft, at least in NOLA. As others have said, Lyft offers more promos to make extra.

The lyft drivers tell me they like it over Uber. I've only used lyft as a rider.

Off-topic, but I was riding a Lyft back to the house last night, and was chatting with the driver. It was around 1 am.
He said it really gets busy between 2-4 am, and "over half" of his rides are strippers heading home.
