How much to replace? I heard salt water pumps go out more often than regular, or maybe that was just a sales pitch.

Yes it does. *sigh*
I was pretty irritated for a minute but no sense in getting all tore up about it.
I asked the service guy if I could come pick up the new pump today and replace it myself and he said “yeah we don’t recommend that. You’ve already done half of our job by troubleshooting the salt cell and replacing the relays in the breaker box for us.”

We’ve had this pool for 12 years and have replaced the pump once before.
The new one will cost $1500 including labor. The pump itself is $1300

First time doing salmon. I usually do chicken, shrimp or beef.

I’d bet the farm that I’m the handiest female you’ve ever met. There isn’t a lot that I can’t do.
I probably could swap it out but don’t have the time before the damn algae would set up.
