My boss called a meeting for 3:00pm the day before Thanksgiving. He's a fricking a-hole.

I completely agree. Lunch is my time. I'm leaving an hour early if I have to work through lunch.

If you schedule a lunch time meeting, you better be providing lunch.....And it better not be a tray of sandwiches from Walmart deli!

Never had a noon meeting where lunch was not served.

Really? That meeting will take up most of your morning and you can dick around the afternoon. Makes Fridays fly by!

Schedule a meeting while me at lunch time and you're buying me lunch

I don't care when someone calls a meeting, but respect others time. If it's a one hour meeting don't expect people to hang around for 2-3 hours. Schedule more time than you need or reschedule a follow up meeting after the hour is up.
Also, don't waste 30 minutes checking every swinging dick in the rooms availability for another meeting. You should have access to their calendars or that can be handled on your own time.

We usually get some pretty good catering if we have a lunch meeting so I'm generally done with it.
ETA: the best meeting time is about 3PM because after everyone is like screw it let's go home after.

Yea, but that's almost besides the point. Even if they're buying lunch, my intention is usually to get out of the office during lunch to give me a break from being stuck in the building all day.

I used to jock at a country station that had "special" Saturday meetings for the sales staff.

That's what my company always did, except they ordered from Jason's Deli.

I always like the 4pm meetings the day before a holiday.

Neither have I. It’s always over lunch at a restaurant, or with lunch provide at least in a meeting room.
