For those old enough to remember, The Sonic was a throwback to small town cruising. They would put a Sonic at one end of a small town, and another at the opposite end of town. Kids would cruise back and forth in their hot rods and junkers all night (well until they closed, which felt like 3am but probably was only 10 or 11 back then).
