Lots of people find the holidays hard, especially when missing a spouse or parent. Just remember how much they would want you to enjoy them. I always cry a few tears when I pull out my ma maw’s hand mixer but I also makes me happy to think about the many Thanksgiving and Christmas meals I watched her make using that mixer. Usually end up sharing pics of those holidays with my son who never got to meet her and it makes me happy to have him know her in some way.

Both of DWs parents are alive so well spend Christmas Eve with them.

I just showed him this because it’s 100% his dad.

that is pretty funny.

I explicitly tell everyone not to buy me any Christmas gifts. If I need or want something throughout the year, I will get it myself.

My mom gifts enough for both of us. I will share and you can continue to have them.

This is a great idea! I always get a few and I don’t use them so they hang around for a while until I donate them. I’m suuuper picky about fabrics on towels and how they feel when they touch my skin.

lol

I have the feels for you having kids so late. If not already, you will be pooping in your pants by the time they hit college.

that's me when I put up my mom's tree. She and I always did all of the decorating together so it's a very special time.

it does seem like my irl life in the current day seems to go to shite just before or in the midst of the season though.

also- i'm having a bad day today. I apologize if i'm not my normal happy go-lucky self.

i'm trying hard to channel my inner shenanigans and tomfoolery though.

Nah. It’s healthy to have a bad day. Indulge yourself with it today so that you can move on from it tomorrow.

I used to feel the same way but realized I was robbing them of the joy of giving.

I prefer to give than to receive because giving makes me happy. Giving makes others happy, too.

DUDE! Spoilers!

Waiting for this horrific storm system to move through. Tornadoes moving through from the west headed this way.

Just strapped down the garbage can so it doesn't fly off like Dorothy's house.

+1 on missing the older sister and also my cousin.
