the opening for all speeches (as i recall from high school speech class). start with a metric about the decline of truck nuts and f250s. link (lol) it to the downturn in oil and gas. assert that truck nuts and f250s cannot exist without o&g baws. cliffhanger preview that more than just truck nuts are effected during an o&g downturn.

You can go with something like "Everything finally seems to be on track. blah blah blah (you fill in whatever) and I love my job. It's the first job I would wake up in the morning and look forward to going to (even if it's a line of bullshite). Then all of a sudden (explain what happened)" Or something alone those lines...
Or you can go the starting with a question route. "have you ever had an experience that completely changed the course of your life? Just when everything seemed to be on track, BAM.. Something unexpected takes you in a completely different direction"...

Back in the day, when Cades Cove posted with some regularity, Rebel seemed to know his place. Since Cades doesn't come around much, he's just OOC. IF I find myself in his neck of the woods, I may call on him to straighten him out.
