I just read their entire website. It's not a charity or any kind of donation, or if it is, they aren't making it known as far as I can tell.
And the "specials" are fairly normal specials. And some if the bars are like 10+ minutes apart. I'm not seeing the worth of $40 here
Yeah, if it isn't for anything charity or some cause.. then you are right... What's the point of paying $40? Even with drink specials, if you just paid for the drinks yourself and not pay $40 you would possibly spend less than $40.
Where would the $40 go? To the bar that is taking the payments? Now I am curious..

Live and Learn.
We did a wine event on the river at Mardi Gras World last year. They charged $20 to get in as a designated driver. I thought, ok, they must get free soft drinks or food. NOPE. You get in the door with a wrist band that isn't redeemable for alcohol and "a chance to enjoy the atmosphere along the river at MGW."
The rest of us paid $40 per to try 10-12 cheap wines.
I told everyone in my family that next time, we would all go out and buy two $20 bottles or 1 $40 bottle and meet back at my place for a real wine party.

$2 – $5 drink specials at numerous Baton Rouge bars
Lets say someone ends up spending $5 (I am saying $5 since some bars will not have drink specials and someone decides to buy drinks at one of those bars) on the average drink.. They buy 7 drinks.
So you pay $40 to be able to get drink specials and you end up spending $35 on drinks.. That's $75. You could buy 7 drinks for $10 and spend $5 less if you don't pay for a $40 ticket.

Wow, that's insane. In Sonoma, we visited a beautiful winery with rolling lavender fields. The VIP tasting, which was 7 wines (3 of the top tier ones) each paired with a special cheese and condiment/accompaniment .. which took place at a private table overlooking the rolling vineyards and mountains in the distance.. was $35/person. Pretty crazy when you compare gimmicky wine events with visiting actual wineries. It is so cheap to do the real thing (until you start buying bottles)

I'm not normally a fan of beer or wine events like that if I have to pay for a regular ticket, because I don't ever feel like I really get my money's worth and I hate having to stand in lines for small pours of drinks.

That's the first time he's looked at either of the dogs.
Just think of all the cute photo ops with Bentley and Abbey if you have a baby.

DPH - why are posters asking Aspy for Derby picks? I thought everyone on here knew who is THE MAN for predicting the outcome of sporting events.
