I was about to say

if you were having trouble meeting people, playing poker at people's houses prob has an inverse correlation

I'm kinda glad we don't have those here, though since Maryland legalized it, they are building an MGM across the river....tempting...

yeah i know poker is more isolating than being social, lol

but part of why i play is to make my brain focus on external things. on the weekends i try to get done earlier enough to go out (if anyone is doing anything). like friday a sort of ex invited me to her house for dinner with her family and i went after, then while i was there tried to feel people out (no real responses)

i need to do more. i was trying to go to chatanooga for a friend's wedding this weekend but the return flights just didn't work out

isle of capri, or as i call it, the "minor leagues"

the games are pretty crazy at L'auberge and the Nugget from what i've heard. not at that level (and i don't have that bankroll) yet

i have a buddy in br who went full time in the poker bizness...had lots of early success and then it all petered out on him. he no longer has any swag.

yeah this is just a hobby and potential side source of a little income

i read a lot on 2+2 and they have threads all the time about people who go "pro" and pretty much everyone busts

hell even most of the name guys people know are broke at poker and living off endorsements

L'auberge is the closest one to me and I have never played there. Ive been there several times, but I never played poker there. I like Harrah's.

i liked the setup at Harrahs

they had a 5-5-10 PLO game going at the nugget this weekend. that's some serious money

i've heard Sammy Farha plays in a private room with super high roller TX people ever so often

i have a couple of serious money close family members who are given the red carpet treatment in vegas and the gulf coast...but they play blackjack and can afford to take hits....i live in a totally different world from them.
