How bad is the Indian reliability? I thought they had gotten their act together, but don't really keep up with it. Is it a major upgrade on reliability?
And you have to consider, your butthole might get mudchecked by a pipe at the next gang outing, for driving a "rice burner".

Consumer Reports has Can-Am (maker of Indian) down just below Harley and BMW which in turn are both well below all Jap bikes. But their rating of Can-Am includes all their bikes, including the three wheel Spyder which has horrid quality ratings.
But even with all that, the quality gap between Japanese bikes and everyone else is still substantial. And among the Japanese bikes, Yamaha has the highest quality rating.

That use to be true in a lot of clubs but is no longer the case. Only 1%er clubs are the ones who still have rules against foreign bikes. In my chapter we have as many or more Jap bikes as Harley's.
