i heard that they must be stored outside, and not in a closed area like a shed or garage.

I keep mine in my insulated pump shed

i keep those inside my boat port. maybe i shouldn't, but i have for years.

I keep mine outside under a shaded porch on my shed. Oh I keep a spare inside my shed. Next to a air compressor. That's probably not wise.

My large and small propane bottles are all in the shed out back. It's a ventilated shed, though.

Yeah, I know what they taste like. I like them but not enough to boil them at home.

Now that I think about it I do have a few small ones. I have one of those insect foggers that runs on propane. Haven't used it in so long I forgot about it.

I keep mine in the garage under my condo. It's well ventilated down there because FEMA requires vents below the BFE.
