Bureaucrats are worse. Bean counters do what they do to save money. It's not always the right motive but it's a better motive than bureaucrats whose main goal is to control people's actions for the sake of controlling peoples actions.

Bureaucrats are worse because they are accountable to no one, compete against no one, and therefore have no skin in the game.

They have a job no matter how bad they are at it.

For example, the anesthesia policy BCBS announced then quickly retracted because of blowback is actually a CMS policy. BCBS didn’t want the negative press so they retracted their policy. It’s still apart of CMS’s physician reimbursement policy.

And the attorney is milking the kid’s family for money.

There’s no point in fighting extradition for a charge like this other than to increase billable hours.

The kid who objects to corporate profits has no problem enriching scum sucking lawyers.

A few random thoughts:

1. He’s cute

2. I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison.

3. One of my black friends called me yesterday and said “this just shows white people can get away with anything” … my response was “wtf are you talking about… this dude is 100% going to prison for a long time, regardless of his popularity.”

4. No one deserves to be assassinated like this merely based your line of work.

A New York Police Department bulletin issued Tuesday emphasized the heightened risk environment for health care executives following last week's brazen killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Viral posts online have listed the names and salaries of several health insurance executives, multiple "Wanted" signs featuring corporate executives have been posted throughout Manhattan and users on social media continue to celebrate Thompson's death, according to the bulletin.

The warning signs come as a sea of social media posts indicate that shooting suspect Luigi Mangione might be viewed as a "martyr" who could inspire extremists to action.

The difference is that the victim is a rich & powerful man. They would not spend millions trying to find my murderer if I was killed. More than 50% of homicides in metropolitan areas go unsolved.

Not everyone has the same value. We are worth less.

So you agree that the attorney should fight extradition if that's what his client instructs. The attorney can't just say it's not worth it.

There’s more to the difference than just wealth and whatever you think of power.

The difference is this is not a drug/gang related murder. Those are typically the unsolved murders because no one with information cooperates and the victims know what they signed up for when choosing that lifestyle .

When thugs die, there usually aren’t loving wives or kids that need a caring father to support them. So there is no public outcry to solve the murders of gang members and street thugs.

For most people who value civil behavior , the death of someone who chose a criminal lifestyle is a net gain for civil society.

NYT has a write up on Luigi's family.

quote:

The Mangiones, fueled by the competitive, combative spirit of their immigrant patriarch, built a formidable family business that made them a force in local politics and charity.

When Nick Mangione Sr., Luigi’s paternal grandfather, thought that he was being discriminated against at country clubs in the early 1970s because he was Italian, he bought his own golf resort. When he got tired of waiting for permission to build a second golf course at one of his clubs, he sent in bulldozers to begin clearing the land. And when one of his sons was cut from a local soccer team, Mr. Mangione barred the team’s coach from his country club.

“Nick Mangione is foremost identified as a family man,” Thomas J. D’Alesandro III, the former Baltimore mayor and late brother of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, told The Baltimore Sun in 1995. “He is maybe a little rough around the edges and maybe with an aggressive personality, but a man with a big heart.”

quote:

When he died in 2008, the elder Mr. Mangione left behind 10 children, more than 35 grandchildren and a collection of business holdings, which now include two country clubs, a chain of nursing homes and a local conservative radio station. The Mangiones are longtime supporters of numerous local causes and institutions, including Loyola University Maryland and the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where the high-risk obstetrics unit bears the Mangione name.

quote:

On Tuesday evening, access to the Hayfields Country Club, a sprawling rural property north of Baltimore that is owned by the family and where Mr. Mangione’s parents also own a house, remained closed off to reporters.

What was his motive? That seems like the first question that should be answered.

I'd ask did you do it first, because that's all that actually matters.

Every prostitute spreads their legs and arse cheeks for money. It’s the nature of the profession to whore themselves out to people in need who do not make good decisions when they hit hard times.

A good attorney will help their client through hard times, not just milk their client to game the system.
