Another vote for samsonite. Great warranty, held up well, and you can get a good price on them at outlet malls.

I just flew this week and saw two pieces of luggage come out on the belt and they were fully Saran wrapped. Who the hell does that?

Um, most likely the airline baggage handlers, they do that often ……….

victorinox.
Wife and I bought several for our destination wedding > 14 years ago.
Just fantastic for getting around and durability. We use at least one or two of them on average monthly since we were married. We Absolutely beat the crap out of them going all sorts of places.
Could not recommend more.

For softside TravelPro…high end softsides like B&R are simply not worth the money IMO.

The department stores used to have big sales to clear that year's inventory. Back in the 80's I got a 175. rolling carry-on of their best set for $80.00. It's still what I use for weekend trips. It's a faded black softside that's been thru the ringer but still going. Easy to spot with a Purple & Gold LSU ID tag. Bought a less expensive version of their stuff in a large rolling bag 20-25 years ago. Haven't used it since I retired in 2011. Can easily pack a week's worth of clothes and cold weather outerwear in it. I always had a backpack with all of my import stuff when I traveled with either bag.

I’ve had my TP roller bag now for almost 19 years. Would recommend.
