A homeless single mother in Arizona who was struggling to make ends meet is now in jail after she allegedly left her children in her car while she went on a job interview.
Shanesha Taylor was arrested on felony child abuse charges after police discovered her two kids - aged 2 years old and 6 months old - in a locked SUV in a parking lot in Scotsdale.

If I had business interests in the Phoenix area I'd hire her and reap the goodwill and positive PR rewards until she stole from the register and I'd have to press charges against her.

I don't know how I feel about this one, man. A 6 month in a hot car for one hour?
I think I'd start with a local church or act like I was working out at the Y and put them in child care or something before I resorted to that.

I've got mixed feelings about it too. Obviously she is trying to improve her life and support her family, but she's also putting her kids in danger while doing so. Those two actions are on opposite ends of the parenting spectrum

Eek. It already gets pretty hot inside the car with the windows rolled up (I'd guess upper 80's to mid 90's during the afternoon). Never leave anything living or electronic in the car in Arizona! Or chapstick.

Why she is homeless if she can afford a Durango? The picture of it in the article looked nicer than my car.
Plus she left the windows cracked, it wouldn't be that bad for a short time.

While I applaud her for trying to better herself and her family instead of sitting on her arse, I think she could've found at least one person she knew to sit in the car(with AC on) and watch her kids.
I'm also torn. Very bad move with the kids, but very good move trying to get a job

The note on the Durango plus, I assume a recent job loss, caused her eviction,I'd bet. You'd be surprised at the number of people a month or two from the streets. I assume the kid's father(s) aren't doing their part support wise.

Nah, you can't leave a 2 year old and a 6 month old alone in a car, even for a minute.

This. Sad situation, but still no excuse for endangering your children like that.
Who was gonna watch them if she did get the job?
Btw....it's getting warm here. Highs in the mid 80s. That can mean the inside of a car is pretty toasty being in there an hour...even with windows down and esp to 2 small children likely strapped into car seats.

For 2 small children on a single parent's salary, who is currently homeless? Let's be realistic.

Appears there's a crowdfunding site for her legal defense that's up to $30k. Maybe she can get a pro bono attorney looking for a write off and some of that cash can get her an apartment and pay for community college classes.

I bet she can give a B-L-O-W-J-O-B
Not that I'd want one from her

Who are these idiots giving $ to a dumbass that left her infants in a car in Arizona of all fricking places?

Yeah I was wondering that as well.
They have homeless shelters for women with children and programs to help women find jobs. Basically....many resources available to her.
I don't feel sorry for someone that endangers their children.

I wish I knew because I'd have a manse on both coasts, two in the mountains, and one in Belize.
