lso, apparently the "racial" moments were made by Weiss.

Where are you getting that? Everyone I know is of the belief Paul Baier made the craps comment.

I always heard it was Baier. But I wasn't there. Just rumors.

This was from that summary article I posted. And for clarification, I'm intentionally not giving my opinion. Just giving info.

quote:

Faulk used scare quotes around the term microagression, thereby casting doubt on the validity of a racially-tinged incident involving an off-hand remark by a white professor aimed at black students gathering for a Black History Month celebration. The incident in question involved an older, white professor (later identified to me as LSU Law Chancellor Jack M. Weiss) observing a group of black law students gathered in the Law Center lobby and asking “What is this, a craps game?” before disappearing into an elevator.

He brought up the diversity numbers and got LSU Law up to #74 in the country. Seems like he was doing a fine job.

How's that bar passage rate look under him?

didn't LSU have something like an 83% pass rate last go round? That's excellent.

Didn't LSU just get beat by SU?

ETA: my bad it was beat by Loyola, Tulane and "other". Barley beating out SU.

I don't think the diversity shite has anything to do with Weiss resigning. Faculty didn't like Weiss before. Question is whether their disdain was warranted. If say probably not.

News flash to the faculty: you're not going to like everything your boss does. Deal with it.

But they work in academics, so they don't live in the real world.

This. It's a smokescreen. Weiss is not a universally liked guy by any stretch.

What was their issue against him? Just that he was their boss?

The day LSU Law is overtaken by Loyola or Southern is the day I light my law degree on fire and piss on the ashes.

Lol the February exam? You mean the exam where the applicants couldn't pass the first time? LSU had less than half the applicants Loyola did.
