That garage is covered with cameras that can be viewed from LSUPD HQ. They'd know exactly what was going on within seconds of the call coming in.

You’re being watched everywhere on campus. Just look on parking lot light poles or the top of buildings and there is a very good chance you’ll see one.

Either a prank or someone freaked out over nothing.
Similar thing happened to me in junior high. Some teacher heard a "ticking noise" coming from a locker. The entire school was sent to the gym for 3 hours while police and bomb squad were called in to open the locker.
Turned out to be a CD player trying to reset itself or something. Granted this was circa 2000 or so less than a year removed from Columbine, but still.

Timing couldn't be better.
LSU just sent out a climate survey to students yesterday about making campus safer.
Granted it was from the Title IX coordinator and was 99% about sexual assault, but I added something in the comments section at the end about the lunacy of "gun free zones" on campus.
