Does anyone in ME currently or a recent graduate have any suggestions on how to study for ME 2234 or what teachers to get or avoid?
Some say get old tests because the test are not like the HW, but where do you get the old tests from? The sites like notesswap and koofers have limited stuff. Does anyone have some they can post on notesswap?

Do you have any friends in ME now? Damn! You probably need to change majors now and cut your losses.

Go be social and actually talk to the upperclassmen...

You want to get Dr. C if at all possible. Dr. D is incredibly hard, 1/3 or so will pass, and those that do will do so barely. Recently they have been using other professors such as Schogel, whom I have no experience with. You are basically at the mercy of who the department schedules if you're sticking with the flowchart.
In order to pass with any of them, you have to bust your arse doing 1-2 hours of problems a day. Anything short of that and most people will fail.
To get test and crap, you want to find someone that will share the ME dropbox that basically contains the notes, book, labs, and test for every class you will take.

My advice-
1)Buy a lot of lube. You'll need it.
2)Give your gf a big kiss. Tell her you love her and you will see her again in 5 months.
3)Sleep, eat, and study all day. Seriously.
4)Expect to fail. When I took it 75% of the class either dropped or failed it. Majority of people that passed were taking it for 2nd or third time.
5)Don't take the class with Harris Wong. He gives zero shits about curves, failing, or the likelihood of suicide after his class.

All pretty accurate other than 5). I don't think Wong ever teaches Thermo, he pretty much sticks with Fluids.

Yeah I think Wong only does fluids. That dude can eat a dick.

I could have sworn he taught me thermo, but I took that class almost 10 years ago, so my memory may be a bit hazy.

Is that Thermo? If so, just do you're homework and study for the tests. Its not that hard if you're not stupid.

What is 2234? I thought thermo was 2334? I could be wrong, going off of memory. The only way to truly get through that class (thermo) is to actually know the shite. If you are trying to get old homework or tests to figure out what's going to be on the test, you aren't going to have a good time. Using that stuff to do practice tests is one thing, but do not under any circumstance try to guess what's on the test. I literally would do every single problem in the back of the chapter that the test was on. I derived everything. Truly that's how one should approach every class, but in thermo, you have to. I actually made better grades after taking it due to it teaching me what it really meant to study. I still ended up with a B taking it my second time. And I'm pretty sure I had the highest grade in the class (back when Blackboard used to show you your class rank).
Taught it the first time I took it. Nice guy and was sarcastically funny if I remember correctly. Wasn't the best teacher I had, but his tests were infinitely more easy than when I took it the second time. So my advice would be to take it with him, and if his lectures aren't covering it, get tutored. My second time was with Gonthier. One of the best teachers I had, but his tests were insanely difficult. You know those questions that you're like, no way they'd put that on there. Yeah, he puts them on there. I remember vividly thinking back to Dr. D's tests and kicking myself for dropping the class, because it was at 7:30 and I didn't do well on the first couple tests.

OP should just buy this now.

What is the ME Dropbox and how do you get access?
Posted on 7/6/15 at 1:42 pm to geauxengineering
Only questioned because there is a non-ME (civil, etc.) major version of it that is supposedly pretty easy.

You need to get off TD and go make friends. If they have any frat guys in your class, they will more than likely have everything. The douchebags won't help you, but some might send you something. You've had to have done projects and had team mates. Do you not talk to anyone in your classes?
I wouldn't think it's possible to make it through ME without friends and old tests and solutions manuals. You'd have to be one smart sum'bitch.

I have ME friends but they are at my grade level. I don't know anyone in ME that has gone thru the class yet.
