Yeah I’m seeing 700K plus postseason bonuses up to 200K but that’s from a few years ago.
Women’s basketball will never be a cut candidate at any school with men’s basketball tho. The media would have a field day with that.

What expenses? Concession workers are contracted out through another company I believe. ROTC use to help clean the stadium on Sundays, not sure if that is still the case.

Honestly it would do LSU and other universities some good to use this time to trim the fat. Universities are way too bloated these days.

I keep hearing CFB is "big business".
$80 MM isn't
$80 MM x 100 is only $8B

Advertising bro
McDonald’s
Rouses
Kentwood Water
Hancock Whitney
Taco Bell
Raising Canes
Just to name a few for LSU
If people aren’t in the stands for football or any other sport, those advertising dollars go away

How much of that is tuition that the athletic department pays the university for every single scholarship athlete? $40-50m that will not be going into the general fund?
This impacts way more than the athletes

Well considering they do all that in 7 saturdays then and the nearby city/businesses that benefit I would say it is

Good reason for us all to go suit up

Cut all liberal art degrees but still offer some programs as electives....
Posted on 8/15/20 at 5:22 pm to tduecen
Well then they need to eliminate every god damn position and expense possible related to Football and athletics and cut that down just like every other business being hurt by Covid. This is no different pain than any other business or organization.

Game expenses.
Travel expenses.
Contract obligations to visiting teams.
Advertising and marketing.
Supplies., uniforms, And equipment.
And you’d like to think they might trim their staff.

now multiply that for every school in the SEC, and you've got an immense crisis
Well it is just a game kids play. Maybe the south should stop making their worlds revolve around football.

all scholarship sports outside of basketball and football and whatever the most profitable women's sports to satisfy Title IX requirements will be dropped and coaching salaries will begin to be tightened dramatically as we enter a new paradigm
Yep

This is true, but it’s a game that brings in a butt-load of money and has made some fortunate people very rich.
