LSU baw Kyle Duncan probably going to serve on the US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Pretty big deal. Good for him and good for LSU. He's an undergrad and law school alum (with an LLM from Columbia).

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted 11-10 on Thursday in support of Duncan's nomination, with U.S. Sen. John Kennedy, a Madisonville Republican who is Louisiana's only member on the committee, voting in favor. His nomination must still be approved by the full Senate before it's finalized.
"Next to (Supreme Court) Justice (Neil) Gorsuch, he did about as well as if not better than anyone in his confirmation hearing," Kennedy said of Duncan. "I'm convinced he's a man of great intellect and will be fair."
