Original like yours. No I am not pissed at all. I have already said numerous times here that the officers should not be charged.

This is laughable at best..

What are they gonna do? Cut them all?

Saban/Mullen/Smart/etc will be waiting to scoop up their players

They can, but they represent a bigger group when they put on their university colors. We all do.

Good for LSU for taking preventative measures.

So basically LSU chose a side and it may not be sympathic to the players ...

Not a smart move. Esp when you have players from those surrounding communities.

So by not taking a side, they choose a side . . . brilliant.

Yes, the golf, tennis, swimming and diving, and baseball teams are loaded with kids from North Baton Rouge.

So they are employees now or students with a first amendment right?

Ain't a shot in hell they are telling non student athletes to do this. That's hypocritical

Which side is that?

Im pretty sure this applies to players voicing both positive and negative opinions about the verdict.

On a side note the players need to learn a lesson I apply to myself about political opinions. Shut the frick up. No one cares.

This action has no bearing on the first amendment. They are not censoring speech

You mean the Athletic Department isn't sending an instruction to non-athlete students?

Alert the New York Times.

and they're not likely to enforce anything even if someone does do it, just a policy that had to make as any public university would. But sure let's make a huge deal out of it

No I understand the athletic department being on top of this, hopefully to stay out of it and to not piss boosters up.

But it's college. This is when young men find themselves and their convictions. Damn if they really compelled to speak on it, they should do so, and wearing their LSU gear, gear thag they have earned through their hard work.

But they better support their students rights to be civically engaged. You'd rather have aware and civic students than dumb jock brutes.

Well that's jsut my take.

It's easy for you to say that, you have nothing to lose by them publicly running off at the mouth in LSU gear. But we already knew what your stance on this would be.
