I hear it as well in prairieville near Manchac. It’s in the direction of plaquemine. Also there was an orange glow in the sky earlier this evening.

Definitely Dow. You can see th glow in the sky. Cold air transmits sound better than warm air.

Yeah, it's the flare. We often can hear the low rumble in our house just was well as if you were outside. We added a noise machine for when it's really noticeable. Doesn't happen too often, but it's the exact sound people are describing. I'm guessing the rare low temperatures is what's making the sound carry farther.

Oddly, we can't hear it as loud now that temps have dropped, but I can still see the orange glow in the sky.

What a weird thing. Hearing it in old jefferson. Almost rattling the windows,thought it was a car with shitty bass outside the house

DOW flaring hard.

I'm 20 miles west and I can see it in the sky and hear it over the TV

DOW always flares hard on state holidays. Why on state holidays you ask? Because DEQ isn't open for business.
