Good enough for the company to justify the pay?
That plays a major factor into the decision. Could they get someone to do what you do for cheaper?

Do you own a business or am I thinking of someone else? Is it a small O&G service company or 2nd income unrelated to the O&G industry?

Nor have I.
Personally, I think this is all a ploy by the O&G workers to get us on their side for when they raise prices. That way, instead of being upset about it, we'll have the mentality of "Well, at least those people all have jobs again."

oh every industry needs a good culling they will weed out the people who make too much $$ bring in the younger unexperienced pay them less.

I graduated this year and the 3 higher ups I know are getting out in the next year. Doubt they're interested in someone my age for an international CFO given my lack of MBA or even 4 months of professional experience.
