Which just reiterates my point that this guy is just butthurt over bad press for PD's nationwide. He wants to keep people from hearing about it.

Actually, he's "butthurt" about local leaders asking for the resignation of an officer after he was forced to shoot and kill a Sudanese man who was attempting to attack him with a metal flag pole, unprovoked. He was simply stopping the man after he had assaulted a woman three blocks before and wasn't the least bit aggressive in the stop either. That's what spawned all of this. Not just him wanting to be some national mouthpiece.

Our local "Al Sharpton", Christopher 2X, with support from our local media has tried to push the perception that Louisville residents think the shooting was unjustified and wants the FOP to push for the officer's resignation. Majority of the people here believe the shooting was justified (the video is at link I posted above).

It was strong language and I don't agree with all of it, but the media here in Louisville has been up the arse of police officers when they need to up the arse of these local "leaders" who only show up when it suits them or if there's a potential lawsuit involved. And yes, it has created a situation where criminals here feel justified in attacking officers. Then people in areas of high crime here wonder why officers end up having to react with deadly force.

Quite simply there are bad cops like there are bad people. And there are certainly situations where officers are in the wrong. But it's slowly turning into an unsafe situation for officers and citizens here because of "leaders" crying wolf everytime an officer shooting happens.

Like I said, I don't agree with all he said but as a lifetime Louisville resident I can't blame him for being so pissed off either.

Also to add regarding the incident that spawned his letter, the "eye witnesses" out and out lied to the police about the events. The officer was very lucky that there were multiple surveillance cameras in the area to catch what transpired. The "eye witnesses" told the police that the man never even grabbed the flag pole nor did he approach the officer.

He mad. This definitely doesn't help the "us vs them" narrative. ETA- after rereading, this guy sounds like a fascist, angry the citizens feel they can question him.

Why because he finally said what most believe? Its time for good people to put their foot down and quit bowing down and quit putting up with this shite.

If you want to know my reasoning, reread the thread. He pretty clearly wants to jail anyone that speaks out against police misconduct.

So, you want to start jailing people that speak out too?

The anti-police bullshite is getting to be too much. The flagpole case would have been another nationally hyped circle jerk if there was no video.

Yeah, I didn't get that at all. He pretty clearly called out criminals who assault officers and media/community leaders who put their spin on incidents involving officers and try to create a racial bias. As well as the eye witnesses who purposefully lied to protect a criminal (you know, snitches get stitches and all).

You don't live here and you don't have any idea what the media has done to officers here who haven't been in the wrong either.

Each and every one of these "eye witnesses" needs to be charged with providing a false statement and interfering with a police investigation.

What about when police lie? Should they charged, because they never are.

Absolutely. Of course, they are trained to lie and the SC has ruled that they may lie in the regular course of their duties. So they never will be. Orwell was correct. Some animals are more equal than others.

He's obviously talking about people making threats to officers, in which case they should be jailed. Obviously the media has gotten to most of you. 5 incidents happen over the course of 5 MILLION interactions and every wants to get fired up, that's why they blow these stories out of proportion!
