My son received a ticket and needs to pay it but does not know where to pay it. He lives in Alabama.

Is there a website that he can go to to pay it?

Should tell you on the ticket where to pay (or go to court)

ETA: also, they are generally going to only take a cashier's check, but you can usually mail it if you choose.

Tell the Gump to never pay it and just not return to Louisiana.

ETA: Didn't realize it was in LA.

Google whatever agency gave him the ticket.

Always hire a lawyer and plead it down to a seatbelt violation—all Louisiana wants is the money....it keeps the gears of the system greased—state gets a little money, lawyer gets a little, and kid gets off with a non-moving violation.

There are plenty of lawyers in Monroe that can handle this for you. It may run $400-500, but there shouldn’t be a moving violation on his record thus raising insurance rates and counting against his Alabama “point” system for driving.

Maybe some here from Monroe can suggest one.

I know a guy. Post the ticket and then tell him don’t worry about it.

Last time I received a ticket was in Rapides.
All I did was call the number on the ticket, ask if anything could be done, and was told that if I agreed to pay in full they could reduce it to non-moving violation, no problem. (I think they turned it into a seat belt violation).

No lawyer involved. No hassle.
I still paid the full cost, but it didn't affect my insurance or anything.

If he wants to risk it he could go to court to contest it. Often the officer doesn't show up to court. If the officer doesn't show up on the court date, the ticket will be dropped and it won't cost him anything. I did that once in Mississippi. No lawyer involved that time either. Worst case scenario there: officer shows up and you pay the full cost of the ticket (which is no more than you're already going to pay anyway).
