recall through early 2000s, every house would have an after game party. Over a series of years, the admins made it progressively harder to have events on campus. Security requirements, catering requirements, sign off and approval, all got harder. T
I was there for all this.
Tailgating at the house was a pain in the arse because it had to have security and catered which during tailgate hours it was expensive and hard to find both catering/security.
House tailgates were reserved for parents weekend.
For awhile it was all around campus, parade ground was MIP central so we avoided it.
Then slowly one by one, every frat but dke ended up there. Once the crowd was so massive it became impossible to police MIPs so as long as you were in a tent and no acting like a complete fool, it was a free for all

And prior to this our dates picked us up, we went to the house, drank whatever mixed drinks our dates fixed us (out of the expertly decorated party cups we provided lol), and then we walked to the game. After the game, we went back to the house, drank keg beer, and danced to a live band.
This happened every home game, mostly without incident, as it was self-governed. LSU decided fun was bad and turned it into a colossal pain in the butt with a bunch of bureaucratic red tape.

Has been banned for many years now.
