Every acre of our 4,000 is leased out. The money is wonderful. And we still have 6-700 acres in Mississippi to hunt. We don't do it Cuz were poor or need the money. We do it because it's damn good money on land we never use or see. And if there's one thing my grandpa always told me, it's buy every ounce of land you can and never sell it. Worked out well for us so far

they want a free waterway dug on their property.

then get mad when someone fishes it.

then why would you care if someone fishes the navigable waterways? if you don't care why are you responding.

PS I didn't start the poor commentary I was making fun of someone else

So what's the point of owning property in the marsh anymore? Why would I pay a lease when I can just go trespass on any ones property?

This isn't a statement with any significance.

Me? I don't care. Go fish if you can get to it. The hunting club that leases our the front portion or the farming operation behind the hunting club might care. But I don't. It's sad, the land is right across the river in the grosse tete area. And ive been once in my life I just had to clarify that not all people who lease out their land do it because they "need" money. Some of us are just greedy assholes who just wanna own all the lands. And make plebs lease it out from us

like posted earlier. block off the waterway. now its not navigable and there is no issue. plus your land won't erode as fast. thats what I would do

You don't own the water.

my driveway is connected to the road that is not on my property, does that give you the right to park in my garage?

You own your driveway and garage.

If your pond is connected to public waterways (which are defined as a body of water that does not entirely reside on your property), then your pond belongs to the public and the public can hunt and fish your public pond. They are not trespassing until they get out of the public waterway and onto your private land.

Exactly....if you want the property (marsh) to be "YOURS" (lease), make the land owners pay for it their dam self without using taxpayer dollars. Tell the person your paying the lease money to to keep up his marsh with the income you are providing instead of filling his pockets.

This is unequivocally false.

same thing with alligators? If the state issues me 25 tags a year, am I allowed to go onto anyone's property to fill my tags? As long a my traps aren't touching the land?

What about crawfish traps, can I crawfish wherever I want?

Where do you draw the line?

yes, this is how it works with open public water

Im also going to hunt in any canal or pond that I can access in my boat

How would this affect duck hunting leases? Does this mean anyone could hunt your land as long as they're in a boat? If so I'm 100% against it.

This petition is dumb. I don't understand why people are mad they can't trespass on other people's property.

Cuz my diddy was a trespasser and used to bring me back there all the time.

according to some posters in here, your duck pond is public water so yes, anyone can hunt it.

Then frick that noise. Also you have to think about oyster beds, etc.

There's more reason to own land in the swamp other than just being an a-hole.

They do maintain the shorelines, but bassholes in jump boats will jump the bank and create a new access point. Been fighting glitter boats on our lease for years.
