Louisiana was just a ploy so Walt could buy up all the land he needed in Orlando without anyone getting suspicious.

We need to recruit the Church of Scientology to build a theme park on the north shore. Based on all of the goofy shite that religion believes, they can build all kinds of crazy theme rides. Best of all, they can fully fund it, and pay all of the politician kickbacks.

Whether or not Louisiana was strongly considered for Disney World, the notion of one state offering things to Disney, while another "had it hands out" is revisionist history. Disney was having to go around in secrecy buying properties in central Florida for years.
My only guess is that the North Shore properties in totality were just too much for the then fledgling Disney Company to afford, whereas swampy central Florida land was easier to obtain in the grand total of acreage they were looking for.

That would have been an interesting mix. Walking to magic kingdom and you hear someone call out: "Yo man I bet I know where you got dem shoes"

It's not a guess I watch the documentary on how Disney World came to be and was shocked that NOLA was in consideration. It was just a side note no angle or dig at anyone. They said that LA politicians worked to raise the agreed land price once they learned what the land would be used for.

Yea, it would have been a shame if the little slice of paradise known as new orleans east had been home to one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world. we're much better off without it.

There's plenty of legitimate corrupt shite in Lousisiana that you could go on for a lifetime about, without having to continually trot out this ridiculous myth

Exactly, even the specifics of any local accounts are at odds with all other accounts of Disney's likely location and dates. No other official or or accepted unofficial accounts that I know of mention the events alluded to.
