Eh, yeah it is. Compared to Louisiana and Mississippi.

Well, yeah. A lot of states are white compared to those two. WA isn't as lilly white as people are making out, though.

A lot of natives also. They didn't get run off like a lot of places. Not a lot of blacks, but my city is like 20% black, so there are some.

Washington is pretty great.

I moved to Seattle about 16 months ago from BR and have zero regrets. Since I have been here, I have meet a dozen or more professionals who grew up and went to college in LA. I don't recall a single professional in LA who made the reverse migration. Any poll can be criticized, but that fact alone is pretty telling. I have lived/worked/visited 49 of the 50 states and I wouldn't say LA is the worst...just pretty damn close.

The supposed crime rate doesn't affect me

Yes, it does. Your car and homeowner's insurance premiums might well be lower if the crime rate were lower and the risk of one of them getting broken into were lower. Your taxes are higher than they need to be, or you are not getting as much benefit from them as you should, because too much of your tax money is having to be spent funding a broken criminal justice system that is much more expensive than it needs to be, partially because of insane and draconian drug and sentencing laws, high poverty rates and reduced opportunity that help drive people to crime. Of course, you are also affected by the increased possibility that, God forbid, you or a member of your family may one day be the victim of a crime.

Semantics mostly, but whatever the true motivation for helping others is, we certainly have it and it has certainly helped us in evolution.

This has nothing to do with anything I posted.

It has everything to do with practically everything you posted. Your response to practically all of the problems with Louisiana was essentially that "it doesn't affect me, so I don't care". That is a classic expression of the "me first" or "me only" mentality.

All I'm saying is, I enjoy living in La.

No, you are saying a lot more than that. It would be perfectly reasonable to say that Louisiana has major problems that it should fix but you still like living there. Instead, what you were saying is that none of those problems matter because you personally aren't affected by them. That's a very narrow, selfish and ultimately dangerous way to look at things, not to mention patently untrue for the reasons stated above and more.

My dad is saving over $100 a month alone because his car and home insurance are cheaper out here in AZ compared to LA.

How how high did the water get where they were looking at building a Bucees? How often has the water gotten that high in that particular area?
