White humans? Doubtful.

Still, hunters aren't likely to get a crack at the animals any time soon. Randy Myers, head of the department's Wildlife Division, said there will certainly be no black-bear season in 2016.

I have seen a few over the last couple of years while traveling just south of Tallulah. I think they are mostly located in the corridor running fromTensas south to the Atchafalaya Basin.

I've driven all over the state and have spent hundreds maybe thousands of hours of remote camping but have never seen one. Are they mostly in north La?

There is an entire family or two that live out by Avery Island and Jefferson Island.

I've also seen two or 3 off of Hwy 90 going through Patterson. I used to laugh at the sign thinking when the f*** did a black bear cross this damn highway to justify this sign, and then I saw two within a week and I shut my mouth.

Get ready for videos circulating around Facebook of laid-off baws laying into them with semi-autos.

I saw one in Allen Parish a few years ago, in the woods along the Calcasieu River. I got off his lawn, it followed from a distance for a few minutes, and we parted ways.

I wouldn't mind having a black bear rug.
