Representatives of two teachers’ unions told the Louisiana Illuminator that they want to make sure that Hodges’ bill is not interpreted as compelling teachers to intervene in fights

If this bill becomes law, there is a 100.00 percent chance that some idiot administrator/teacher will attempt to discipline a teacher who chooses not to break up a fight, because they will say, well, you won't be held liable, and it's part of your job.

The vast majority of problems in our school can be traced back to crappy parenting, and the remaining issues can be traced back to crappy administratons.

Sad.

This bill shouldn't be necessary.

Yeah... don't want my wife breaking up a fight between two "kids" twice her size.
Well, it doesn't mandate that teachers are required to, only that they won't be charged criminally if they decide to.

Sometimes, protecting a student from a malcontent is better than watching them be pummeled for nothing other than a fear to intercede.

How about a bill to make the parents of miscreants that would fight in school criminally and civilly liable?

She said cell phones have complicated de-escalating school violence because some students would text each other about fights and leave without permission.

We never did this. Were there fights? Yes, but kids didnt just get up and leave the classroom without permission.

What the frick kind of schools are they running?
