Conditioned that bitch back in 1987!!
I have has good and bad days in court, been held in contempt twice, been escorted from the courtroom once, settled one case for over a million dollars, but nothing in my 26 years of practice was as nerve wracking as that test! Congrats! It is all good after it's over!!!!!

Yea I was struggling to finish Code 2.
Got through the first two questions and then I skipped ahead to multiple choice. Then realized I had less than 30 mins to spit out answers to the 12 fricking subparts of the third question.
It will be apparent to the examiner that I was being nice, thorough, clear and structured in the first question or so and then they'll see everything went to shite by the time I got to the third question
First question looks like a damn sample answer in terms of structure and format. 3rd question I'm just spitting out the what I think is the answer and a sentence or two on the reasoning behind it.

Code 1 was okay except for the second question.

I thought it was kind of silly how they seemed to try to trip you up on fractions as if its a damn engineering exam.
There is a new Code II examiner this year and he didn't have a lot of stuff on there that required math. That didn't make it any easier however.

The last subparts on question 3 I just typed out a sentence or two and hoped I would be able to go back to it.

When I took it the questions were much easier than the questions on the regular law school exams. The thing that made the bar exam so difficult was that you had to know all subjects at the same time. You will never know as much law again in your life as you will the moment you step out of that last exam on Friday.

At least our pass rate was like 70 something percent. When my wife took it, it was the year it bottomed out at 53% and everybody knew it was going to be low. I wouldn't have been able to handle that well.
This one I'm taking is 85%. I like to think if I don't drool on myself all day I should pass

I just went on law school visits last week. I hope it is worth going through, because it sounds like a bitch lol

Yea just for fun I was hunting around the LA Supreme court website last night for more info on test day procedures.
Stumbled upon the the Feb 13 and July 13 pass rates. Gave me a good scare the night before the test.
Feb '13 ~40%
July '13 ~53%

Don't sweat it brother you will be fine. However, why you decided to join this thankless, god forsaken professional is beyond me.

I went from feeling great after code I to a reality check after code II, to feeling like I was taking an exam in Greek after code III.
They have to throw out some of the questions on codes II and III. I'm betting the pass rate for code 3 is under 50% this year.

Ya, it was right after they got rid of conditioning they also decided they would try to cull the herd. After about 3 tests that were less than stellar I suppose they relaxed a bit. What they did exactly to make the test harder I have no idea. Of course, the harder it gets after you pass only benefits you I suppose.
I doubt you'll see those low rates again, so don't fret.

From what I understand they want the passage rate to settle around 60-65%. It was 70% last July if I remember correctly, so they are likely trying o bring it down a bit. Hopefully they didn't over correct.

This thread happens every year with all the current test takers freaking their shite out after the first day. It's all down hill from here--besides BE/NI, everything else is a ton of repeats and a breeze. Congrats y'all are done the worst part.
If you put in a good effort studying the past month you'll pass.

BE/NI
Which could also be a shite show with the new corporate law.
Also, new federal jurisdiction examiner that could frick us all if he decides to follow the code 2 examiner and deviate from the well beaten path.

Not to mention BE/NI have been pretty random the last couple years.

What's new for "corporate law?"
The corporation stuff sucks anyways. Learning LA shareholder, derivative suits and fiduciary duties when no one has probably incorporated here in 20 years seems like a waste. But it's on pretty much every bar because it's easy to test and all the same. Agency and partnerships is on every bar too.
What did they add?

Unanimous governance agreements, shareholder voting, shareholder oppression and filing requirements for incorporating are some of the bigger changes.
Basically, Louisiana adopted the model act and revised unanimous governance agreements somewhat to allow you to essentially run your corporation as an LLC.
