My first and hopefully last
I thought the same thing 4 years ago, but here I am studying for Texas.
Man, ya'll got hosed on the test date. Wonder why it wasn't next week like the one I'm taking.
I'll tell you one thing, at least in LA you know the exact order of subjects coming at you. For TX, you get 12 essays on essay day and they can be in any order by pairs. So you don't know what's coming next until lunch time and you've done 6 already.

I was July 2011 right before they got rid of conditioning. That was a blessing and a curse.
If you don't recall, you had to pass 4 codes and 3 non codes to pass the exam. My buddy passed 3 codes and 4 non codes so he conditioned.
On the plus side of waiting 6 more months to become a lawyer, he only had to take the two sections he failed and pass one

Does TX do the MBE? How did you do on that?

MBE is administered next wednesday or thurdsay. It's the same day nationwide (except for LA because we don't take it)

You were so close to greatness!
TX is next Tuesday through Thursday. Mbe is Wednesday.
So far I'm doing pretty well on the times I've practice tested it. I'll say the 3 hours without a break TX does is going to test the limits of my puny bladder

The MBE saved me on the MS exam. I crushed it.

I can see that. Barbri has this little thing where it grades you against everybody else by MBE subject. I was pretty average there.
What I learned after taking the simulated one and getting my score was all those punks had been cheating. I felt great!

Doesn't Texas reciprocate for all other States after 5 years practice experience?

Yes, don't remind me.
I did it to secure a client with my employer and get a substantial raise.
I sort of regret it right now

Code 2 is successions right?
I thought it was kind of silly how they seemed to try to trip you up on fractions as if its a damn engineering exam.
I was happy to see that they don't try to do that with intestate successions in TX.

They didn't really try to trip us up with fractions. Now, they just give you 3 questions consisting each of 10 subparts and 10 multiple choice questions to do in 2 hours. You barely have time the think. I guess that's the point.

Good luck to you guys. I took it in the summer of 1983 but remember it like it was yesterday. Take care of business this week and get ready to do some serious partying Friday night when it is all over.
Agreed. Took it summer of '10. Drove to Florida as soon as the test ended. Didn't move from the beach for a week; though it did take 4 days for me to wake up without dreams of taking some screwed up version of the exam with no real answer. Those don't exist btw if you're having those dreams currently. If you've studied your arse off you'll be fine, especially now that the first day is in the books.

Code 3
I'll be lucky with a 65 on that exam.
eta: Code I was tough. Code II was okay. I don't even know what Code III was.

I feel like I put a lot of bullshite on that test.
I didn't find Code 1 that bad. I missed a few things but on a majority of it I thought I did ok
