Just like in a prison

They already exist in many schools. It is just not advertised.

We need security guards at schools with good training, not teachers with guns.

There is a ton of push back from educators on this.
Some of it is a general fear of guns (unwarranted).
Some of it is a general fear of their coworkers (may be warranted).
I would trust a principal to select qualified/responsible candidates. But I get the feeling that a lot of principals are shy about that responsibility.
Ultimately for public schools, they need to hire school resource officers. Their 1 job is to protect the campus.
I understand that the principals are not always getting the pick of the litter when it comes to SROs.
But the gun training, scenario training, and knowledge of the law and gun safety is handled as best as it can be. The question is "how many" should be onsite?

As a high school teacher, this is the only real way to safely implement this idea. As a gun owner who practices semi regularly, I wouldn't feel comfortable having a gun in the classroom on me. Way too crowded in classrooms and way too easy to get it snatched.
And no way I would trust most of the teachers I work with to carry on campus. Give a teacher or two in each building (who are trained and required to have a certain amount of range hours) a secure safe in their room that only they or admin/security can open and it could be a decent source of extra protection for schools.

Thanks for this. I’m smarter now because I was dumb for not knowing this.

It is. Posting/lurking here is probably a red flag women should consider.

Building schools to be more secure would be best. It is truly pathetic that this country does not have the money to build schools that can be cordoned remotely. If a tranny shooter cannot gain access to classrooms, then there is no point in them being there.
Also, we should seriously consider bringing back extremely harsh punishments for crimes like this. Hangings, beatings, firing squads, and burning. If you're found guilty of murdering children, you should have no rights and no protection from the justice system.
A tranny shooter could technically kill 100 children, surrender, and then live on my tax dollar in prison for 60 years. Unacceptable.

I think teachers should absolutely be allowed to carry if they have a documented level of training and proficiency.
So you mean male teachers then?
