Looking at Tundra and F 150 Tow a boat under 3000# To and from hunting property in woods. Flat terrain.
You don’t need a full sized for this.

What is your budget? No budget, just don’t want to get hosed.
What else do you need this vehicle to do? Daily driver
Is fuel economy important? No
How far do you need to tow the boat? @60 miles, hunting @120 miles.

Just bought a new Colorado Z71. Only have 5,000 miles on it, but I’ve loved it so far.

My philosophy on vehicles is to buy what you need and avoid paying extra for stuff you don’t unless it hurts long term resale to opt out of something. I get mid tier trim levels because they are typically on sale. I like good deals more than the perfect color or wheel options.
With that in mind:
If you can physically fit in a mid sized comfortably, I’d look there. Tacoma is pricey, so I’d look at the Canyon, Ranger, Frontier, or Colorado. All are good. 4x4 should be considered but you don’t necessarily need low range.
If you just want a full sized….
GMC/Chevy with the 2.7L Turbomax or the L84 5.3L V8. Chevrolet will have the better deals usually. The LT trim is where I’d look for Chevy and the SLT trim for the GMC. Start there and look at dealer inventory online and see where the sales are.
Ford with the 2.7L Turbo. Probably the XLT model since those are on sale with the most aggressive incentives. Ford’s typically have some big issues but that engine has held up well.
Tundra with the non-hybrid motor and the SR5 trim can be found with incentives too. I don’t know if Toyota is necessarily better than the domestics for reliability in this segment. If not for the F-150, the Tundra would be the lowest rated truck (for reliability) in Consumers Reports and one of the lowest rated vehicles at all.

This one is listed at 39k miles. Most people from the New Orleans/ Metairie area are too stupid to list the mileage when they try to sell their trucks. You will have to send them a message and ask.
That’s a good looking truck. Big fan of that generation Tacoma.

Like stated earlier, I would consider a smaller truck if that is all you need to pull. Parking will be much easier when you use it to drive to work or run around town. I have a Ridgeline which I love, but there are several options out there.

Have you driven in any of the new mid-sized trucks lately? They will all handle that load easily.
Hell most mid-size are now as big as a full-size of 10 yrs ago with as much or more power depending on the engine package.
