The only people who defend library science are the following:
1. The 10% of MLIS graduates who lucked out and actually landed one of the few decent jobs left.
2. Professors clinging to their fledgling university jobs.
3. MLIS students who went all in on their education/loans despite the handwriting on the walls.

Sorry you couldn't cut it in Engineering. OT Engineers are the most arrogant peeps here, since you've been with TD'ings since 04 you should know this already Baw!

Well, looks like this thread has turned into just what the OP was looking for.

You literally have no idea what I do, because I don't divulge personal information on an anonymous, public message board. Baw.

Same for you. That's why you should never bring it up, dumbass. Seriously, you pulled the "I make more money than you" card when you have no idea. I could be a millionaire for all you know.

Why did I study engineering?

ETA: well, I guess that isn't starting. But still, a lot higher than I thought librarians made.

I know a couple things about you, actually.

Geeze. Didn't mean for this to turn into a pissing contest. But then again on the OT, threads do tend to take on a certain pattern.

I had to cover the openening of our badass new library on campus and we talked a bunch with the phd library sciences dude who was overseeing the construction of the building. It seemed pretty high tech.
We aren't talking about the libraries anyone can just walk into with a library sciences guy. We're talking about research libraries with a lot of valuable artifacts to the point that they're almost like museums. I know the library I was covering had the confederate constitution.
The books/artifacts had to be kept in environments that were not dangerous to them and they had to fit all the stuff into one area. They constructed a vault on skids where machines could bring up the requested artifact with minimal human interaction. Of course, not anyone is allowed to do that. But it was pretty cool.
