I went in the #10 Saloon when we went through Deadwood a few years back (before the series, Deadwood). It looked exactly like I imagined, smelled like I imagined too, of cheap whisky and cigars and old wood. They had the chair Wild Bill was sitting in when he was murdered hanging on the wall.

I cannot imagine how bad it smelled there with the animals, no deoderant, few baths or showers being taken, and no internal plumbing, but damn what I wouldn't give to just be able and go back and hang out there for a day.

Wonder if those involved in this picture realized what they were building there? This pic was the year after founding of the city. Deadwood is now a household name.
