Even Messi misses. We played well, Belgium just finished better.

If it wasn't for Tim Howard's epic saves, the game could have easily been 3 or 4 nil in regular time.

So we can't make the guy who missed in the 92nd minute the goat?

I understand Belgium was better but why? How many people live in Belgium and are they really that much more talented?

Being serious

They have a golden generation of talented players right now. All who play for some of the biggest teams in the world.

The population argument doesnt work. Our best athletes dont play soccer, they play sports that make lots of money in this country.

This.

I don't give a frick about soccer. But if the U.S. ever wants to be competitive it can't just be dudes who grew up playing it in the suburbs.

Hopefully the soccer talk will die at the end of the week. So I can listen to Dan Patrick again.

We should have plenty of great athletes left over to play soccer.

Baseball must be 50% Latin players. Only so many can play basketball and many of the football players & basketball players physiques probably wouldn't be good for soccer

sure if we just forced a certain % to play soccer

1AA and D2 is littered with guys who should be playing soccer instead of basketball/football (no future)
